大英百科全书一年的免费订阅
昨天在 TechCrunch 上看到的消息，大英百科全书给网络出版者（web publishers ）一年免费的百科全书订阅，而“网络出版者”的定义是：
[P]eople who publish with some regularity on the Internet, be they bloggers, webmasters, or writers.
同时，大英百科全书的网站也说：
We reserve the right to deny participation to anyone who in our judgment doesn’t qualify.
好奇就去申请了一下，很快就得到了回应，拿到了一个促销码，获得了一年大英百科全书的订阅，还是挺方便的，因为平时也会用到它。其实，需要打发时间的时候读一读百科全书或者字典都不是不错的选择。
题外话：在 TechCrunch 上看了另一则关于 SportsNetwork 被攻击的消息以及评论。最近的事态，让人不得不质疑东西方是否进行真正意义上的沟通。譬如《纽约时报》上的一则消息，指责中国的年轻人不站在海外支持ZD的藏人的立场上想问题，呵呵，将心比心，这位记者同志在作自我感觉良好的批评的时候，是否站在广大爱好和平支持奥运的中国人的立场上考虑过任何问题？真正的建议自然胜过 "self-righteous finger-pointing aimed at publicly shaming and humiliating them (按：原文指中国政府）" 后面这句引语是加州大学洛杉矶分校一位政治学教授因不满希拉里抹黑中国而辞去她的竞选顾问时作出的评论。
